Inside Out Of My Mind

About Me

My photo
Born and raised in Metro Detroit. I have a deep love for the city and all that it has to offer. Always seeking growth, absorbing all that I can and cherishing the treasures that I collect along the way. I am fortunate in my life to experience many true connections with others where I am gifted with energy, light, passion and grace.

Time Tables

Time tables make minds stable

Or break them wide open
Break down the way forward
Elevate the truths inside
Deconstruct the journey
Fight against the memories
Seduce the joy, invite the wonder
Beckon the strength
Block the midnight call to arms as
Day slips in to halt the breakdown
That darkness bred the night before
Don't be drawn into the race
As sand pours through the hourglass
As the deadline approaches
Keep your mind from breaking
While you cast your gaze to the horizon
Dawn smooths out the wrinkles of time
And we wake before the breakdown
And, we break the day wide open!

 Life Blood

Pour the colors of your heart onto the canvas
The stark white reflects a thirst for pigment
Expression causes the blank space to vanish
A gift to be treasured by the voyeur’s vision
Let the words within, drip as poetry from your lips
Carved out from memories over the passage of time
Wellspring of emotions rushing into script
Interpretation as fluent as the gestures of a mime
Put pencil, charcoal or ink to paper reflecting the images inside
Sketching utensils rush from inkwell to linen
To transcribe those etchings littering the halls of the mind
No boundary, no box of rules on how to begin
Stream the consciousness of your soul into song
The notes are burning embers of pain and desire
The structure is a collision of moments that belong
To the string of vacancy spilling chorus into the fire
Strike the chords composed by your imagination
The audience will memorize the rhythm
Sparked by their desire for reconciliation
Music is the universal healing serum

Unplug the Circuit

My heart, like a flashing neon sign
From birth, calling to those, far and wide
They take their places in line
To freely take what is mine.

Line up, line up, I proclaim!
Whether out of pain or learned behavior
I forsake myself to the brink of shame
Forgetting that only I can be my savior.

Unplug the circuit, dim the lights
Darkness to guide the way
Shadows fuel the fire inside
Teaching the heart  to stow away.

Be a student,  with silence as the teacher
Allow it to do all the talking
An avid motivational speaker
For those with the patience to listen.

Allow the peace to flow in and around
All that my heart is anxiously awaiting
Harness the reticence that flows down
Funnel it into my potential for greatness

Invisibility

Oh, invisible me
Could I slip through the cracks
Even disappear into the atmosphere

Or could I slip inside
Your beautiful mind
And reside there

But, for the fear of not being accepted
Or the scalding truth of being rejected

No map to lead the way
For your voice reverberates
The music my heart wants to play
If only I could scale these prison gates

If only I could tear down the walls
And escape from inside
These sterile, vacant halls
I could be visible and alive
